20% Project #5-Three String Guitar

Hi I’m Emma and I’m doing the three string guitar for my 20% project. This week I have accomplished a lot, I found two songs that could maybe work to play on the three string guitar. The two songs that I am considering is the song Teachers pet from the movie School of rock and the other song is Amber by 311. I couldn’t find the chords for the song Amber by 311, so I don’t know if I can do that song. Some struggles I had is that I still don’t know if a have a song to work on and I also don’t have the chords for Amber. I had to adjust to different songs and try different styles of music to see which one could be easygoing. Next time I am going to make sure I have a song to work on and then I am going to work on my trifold. Thank you for reading my update!

Rad Reading-April

In April, I read who killed the homecoming queen by R.L. Stine. This book is about a girl, Eva, who gets strange feelings and can sense when something is wrong. Scary things start happening to her friends and her, and a little innocent joke that a few of her friends tried doing took a big turn and made a terrible mistake. What I loved about this book was that it was thrilling and always making me want to keep on reading. My favorite character is Jeremy, the step brother of Eva’s best friend, because he is so caring and loving to his step sister and his always making sure she’s happy. I know he is a caring brother because in the book it says “‘Hurry, Eva!’ Jeremy cried. He lurched in front of her and almost tripped. ‘We have to get down there!’” This shows he is caring because his step sister fainted when she was getting picked for prom queen and Jeremy jumped up super fast and ran down the bleachers so fast he almost fell to see if she was okay. My favorite quote from the book is when they were doing a shoot for their friends movie and it felt like it was real because Eva saw her best friend’s boyfriend, Sandy, cheat on her earlier. The quote is “His hands circled her throat. ‘What are you doing?’ Tania shrieked. ‘You’re choking me! Stop it! Stop it!’… Eva stared in horror as Tania slumped lifelessly to the ground. ‘No!’ Eva screamed into the silence. ‘Nooo!’” That’s it I had for my blog thank you for reading it!

20% Project #4-Three String Guitar

For my 20% project I’m learning to play the three string guitar. I didn’t accomplish much, but I did learn some new things. I learned a simple small piece from the song Fur Elise by Beethoven, but also it is not a song that I can learn for my project because it doesn’t take much time to learn and get used to playing it. I did have some struggles, I didn’t find a song that is good to play and learn over a long period of time because all the songs that I thought would be good to play were either too repetitive or had chords I couldn’t find how to play. I did have to adjust to different genres that weren’t the type of music I was planing to play, but as long as I find a song that is playable for me, it should be fine. Next time hopefully I find a song that I can learn for a longer period of time than the songs that I found today and if I do find a song then I will practice it and try to get better at it.

20% Project #3-Three String Guitar

This week I didn’t accomplish a lot, but I did accomplish some stuff. I figured out some options for songs to play on the three sting guitar. I found two songs that I like Blackbird by The Beatles and Hey Jude by The Beatles, but I tried playing those songs and it doesn’t sound right so I might not do those songs and I will probably have to find another song to do. Some struggles I had was that I couldn’t find a good song that I really wanted to play and I also couldn’t find a song that sounded right on the three string guitar. I had to adjust to a lot of different songs to see which one I like and which one sounded decent on the three string. Next time I’m going to continue to look for songs and if I find a song I like I will practice playing that.

My Favorite Room

My favorite room in my house is my dad’s man cave. This is my favorite room because it has two arcade machines and a pinball machine, so I always have something fun to do. Another reason I like this room is because it has a tv with a projector screen, so its makes the tv bigger. I also like this room because the couch is very comfy to sit on when my family and I watch movies. There is also a mini bar because my dad really wanted one when we moved in, so he built a mini bar himself. My last reason I like this room is because my dad has two tanks of fish, one big tank for bigger fish and a smaller tank for smaller fish. Also if any fish have baby’s then my dad has a little tank in a cabinet under the big tank, so none of the baby fish can get hurt by the other fish that’s not their parents. Thank you for reading my blog!

20% Project #2-Three String Guitar

This week was amazing and I was able to accomplish getting used to playing my song. I also was able to play the song all the way through on the three string guitar. I didn’t have many struggles but I did have one struggle the was huge because there is one chord in the notes that I can not play because I could not find the chord on google. When I finished learning the song I adjusted and stopped practicing the song and switched over to looking for another song to play, so I don’t get bored with playing the same song over and over again. I didn’t find a song I wanted to play but that’s ok because I have plenty of time to learn a new song, so it’s no problem if I have to use some of my time next time to find a song. Next time I will look for some songs I like so I can look for the notes for those songs and see what song I like playing the most.

My Cabo Adventure

During spring break I had lots of fun in Cabo. The first night I was in Cabo we went to an amazing restaurant, where I got chicken tacos! The next morning we got ready to go do an activity with dolphins! When we got there we went up to the pool where the dolphins were. Then we did two activities, the first activity was dancing with the dolphins and the dolphin kisses you on the cheek, then the second activity was where the dolphins lays upside down and we grab their two fins and they swim use around in a circle really fast. Then after the dolphins we walked around the little town by the shops and restaurants. We went and grabbed dinner and went to the hotel. The next day we got ready to go grab lunch and go snorkeling. I had tacos and they were so tasty. Once we got to the boat we got on with the group and they took us to the middle of the ocean. We went into the water and swam around a little and then they also had some activity you could do in the water. I used this water jet that’s where you hold this jet and you can swim around faster then. I also used a paddle board which was really fun. The last day we went to this place where we got to ride camels and then go ride e-bikes on the sand. The next day before we left to go back home we hung out by the hotels pool. Cabo was so much fun and I think I its a great place to go to for spring break!

20% Project #1:Three String Guitar

For my 20% project I decided to learn the tree string guitar. My goal this week was to find a song I wanted to play and to work on learning the different chords. I didn’t really have any struggles but my fingers kind of started to hurt from playing the chords and I didn’t know how to strum correctly which made it a little difficult to be confident when I played the song. First I wanted to play Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen but then I decided to switch over to Happier Than Ever by Billie Eillish because I couldn’t find the chords for the other song. Next time I’m going to work on getting better, such as strumming better and working on getting used to putting my fingers in the right places to play the chords. Also next time I’m going to make sure I don’t have any nails while I play because when I have nails it makes it harder to play.

Dinner Party

If I were able to invite three people to my party I would invite my friends Charlie, Hailey, and Zoey. I would invite Charlie because she is my best friend and she is funny, kind, and relatable. I also can always count on her for anything. I would invite Hailey because she can always make someone smile and laugh. She also can make the night be filled with laughter and joy. Lastly I would invite Zoey because she is kind and always thinks about others. She is also always there for others when they need someone. Thank you for reading my blog!

Rad Reading-March

In March, I read Diary of a Wimpy Kid No Brainer by Jeff Kinney it is a book about a middle schooler named Greg Heffley and how he has to deal with a bunch of crazy things that’s happening to him. What I loved about this book is that it shows me how hard other people’s lives can be and how I’m lucky to be me. My favorite character from the book was Greg’s mom because she is funny and is very independent. Greg’s mom is childish and I know this because on page 146 it says “I don’t think Mom or Mrs.O’Malley actually cared about the principal for the day thing anymore. They both just wanted to make sure the OTHER person didn’t win it.” This proves she is childish because most adults would talk out their problem with each other but instead Greg’s mom tried to take revenge on Mrs.O’Malley. My favorite quote from the book is “It’s called “social media”! And if you want to “like” something you just press this little heart!”(pg.2) This is my favorite quote because it’s funny how he has to explain it to his grandparents and show them how to use the phone.
